Multiples of 500 come in Monster Boxes. Obverse: Susanna Blunt’s design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the $5 face value (CAD).

Reverse: Depicts a red-tailed hawk, designed by Canadian artist Emily Damstra, descending upon its prey, wings fully outstretched, along with the weight and purity. Sovereign coin backed by the Canadian government.

The 2015-dated Red-Tailed Hawk is the third installment of the Royal Canadian Mint's four-coin 1 oz Silver Canadian Birds of Prey series, which will have a maximum mintage of one million coins each.

Safely store and display your Birds of Prey coin series and other commemoratives. Always store Silver coins in a cool and dry location because dramatic changes in temperature and humidity can affect the appearance of your coins.

Tarnishing and spotting of 1 oz Silver bullion coins will decrease their collectibility and therefore their value. Keep coins from your Birds of Prey coin series and other collectible coins in their original holders and save any information or cards that come with your sets.

As Silver coin prices increase and become more valuable, you might want to consider secure storage in Citadel Global Depository Services. Understand the Silver spot price when buying commemorative Silver coins.

When buying Silver coins, collectors and investors never pay the Silver spot price, as this is the price for raw, unfabricated Silver. Silver coin prices quoted are never the same as the Silver spot price, as you must add on fabrication, distribution and minor dealer fees, which will give you the premium price of Silver.

If you buy the Birds of Prey coin series or other commemorative or special edition Silver coins, you must also add numismatic, or collector value to the regular premium price. Some 1 oz Silver bullion coins have a lower premium price versus commemoratives because sovereign mints issue the coins annually.
