Product Details

The second release in the Royal Canadian Mint's Nature's Delight series, this hexagon-shaped coin celebrates the spider's artistry, precision and important role in maintaining ecological balance.
Coin Highlights:
  • Contains 1 oz of .9999 fine silver.
  • Limited mintage of only 7,500 coins.
  • Each coin comes in a clamshell box with a black beauty box and includes a certificate of authenticity.
  • Obverse: The obverse features a yellow-gold-plated effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati. The distinctive plating complements the coin's nature-inspired design and adds a warm contrast to the silver surface.
  • Reverse: Designed by Canadian artist June Steube, the reverse features a detailed depiction of the banded garden orb weaver (Argiope trifasciata) perched at the center of its dew-covered web. The spider is plated in yellow gold to echo its natural pale-yellow tones, while geometric bands, circles and radiant lines reflect the intricate architecture of its web. The spider and rim are also enhanced with yellow-gold plating, creating a striking contrast against the .9999 fine silver and reverse-proof finish.
  • Guaranteed by the Royal Canadian Mint.

Designed by Canadian artist June Steube, the reverse features a detailed depiction of the banded garden orb weaver (Argiope trifasciata) perched at the center of its dew-covered web. Spiders are more than skilled predators—they play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by helping control insect populations. The banded garden orb weaver is found throughout Canada and is recognized for its distinctive coloring and intricate orb-shaped webs, which can stretch up to 60 centimeters across.
