More About the Design:
The outermost rope motif represents interconnected strength, diversity and unity. Inside, triangular patterns evoke the Philippines' mountain ranges and festive banderitas, reflecting resilience and celebration. The mythical Sarimanok, a traditional Filipino bird, represents migration, adaptability and perseverance, while interwoven heart motifs symbolize love, compassion and community.

Canadian maple leaves are incorporated alongside traditional okir motifs, representing the connection between Filipino heritage and Canadian identity. At the center, an imitation mother-of-pearl centerpiece surrounds an engraved sun motif symbolizing freedom, unity and the Philippines' cultural and natural treasures.
