Peanuts Beagle Scouts

First introduced in 1974 by Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, the intrepid Beagle Scouts offered a whimsically divergent view of the scouting experience. The beagle in Beagle Scouts, Snoopy, frequently leads his yellow feathered friends into the wilderness on reconnaissance missions where teamwork, leadership, and the great outdoors are prominent themes.

The Beagle Scouts pay homage to the values and fun of scouting in a playful and charming way that appeals to young and old alike. Snoopy, as the Beagle Scout leader, conveys the impact of scouting organizations and their encouragement of being prepared as well as being a steward of our wilderness areas.

On the 50th anniversary of the Beagle Scouts, we celebrate the timeless charm and fun that further connects the Peanuts comic and its characters to the everyday lives and nostalgia of its audience. The Beagle Scouts live up to the tradition of scouting and are among the most prominent fictional representations of these venerated organizations.
