Chevrolet’s Original Logo (1911-1914)Chevrolet’s first logo was the brand’s name written in thick, cursive script that was written by the company's founder, a race car driver named Louis Chevrolet. The classic bowtie shape replaced this logo, but this signature was used in those initial foundational years.
The History of ChevroletChevrolet began as an experimental shop in Detroit, which advanced over the decades until World War II. The majority of the production facilities and assembly plants were converted to military or postwar manufacture during the war or afterward, with additional lines on the way.
After the successful debut of his car, Louis Chevrolet hired himself out to help develop a vehicle that anybody could purchase. In 1909, William C.
Durant, the founder of Buick Motors Corporation, engaged Louis Chevrolet, a renowned race car driver, to build a vehicle that everyone could buy. After two years of construction, the Chevrolet Motor Company of Michigan was founded in 1911 and began producing cars the following year.
The name "Chevrolet Motor Company" was changed to "Chevrolet". It grew in size after each new model was launched, culminating with its incorporation into General Motors in 1918.
Chevrolet was one of the most popular brand in the United States from 1931 to 1941, and sold over a million vehicles every year from 1927 until 1931. TM GM
