1925 Peace Dollar MS-67 PCGS
The 1925 Peace Dollar was created as part of the celebration of the peace after World War I. The coins were meant to commemorate peace and prosperity, featuring Lady Liberty on the front with an American Bald Eagle on the back. The coins were designed by Anthony de Francisci, who won a contest to design the new dollar.
The Peace Dollar coins were minted from 1921 to 1928, and then again in 1934 and 1935. The coins were meant to be used as legal tender, but because of the Great Depression and World War II, they were mostly hoarded and never circulated. Peace Dollars are made of 90% Silver and 10% Copper, making them valuable collector's items today.
The United States Mint
The United States Mint has a storied history, dating back to 1792 when it was first established by Congress. The mint is responsible for producing all the nation's coins and remained crucial in developing new coinage technologies, such as stainless steel which enabled them make cents out of aluminum instead Gold or Silver. Over time, the U.S. Mint has evolved to play key roles not just economic development but also financial system stabilization.
The United States Mint is always working to stay ahead of the latest coin-making technologies and remains a vital part in America's economy. Coins produced by the U.S. Mint are essential for commerce, with each one being both beautiful as well durable. The mint and their coins has gone through many changes throughout history but always remain an important piece within the American financial system.
