The new American Gold Eagle designs began appearing on these coins in mid-year 2021 and are set to continue being the new standard moving forward. Jennie Norris, Mint Artistic Infusion Program designer, created the popular Gold coin design that depicts a close-up portrait of America's national bird - the American Bald Eagle. The obverse has been revised with additional details from the original design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens from 1907.
