New for 2021, APMEX has partnered with PCGS to ensure that 2021 MintDirect Premier Gold Buffalos submitted to PCGS in intact packaging will be eligible for the popular FirstStrike? designation, adding to the collectible value of these beloved Gold coins.

The U.S. Mint does not sell its bullion coins directly to the public. Instead, they distribute their coins to only a handful of authorized purchasers who then sell the coins to the public. As one of these authorized purchasers, APMEX is able to get coins direct from the U.S. Mint and pass them along to you.

APMEX has partnered with PCGS, one of the most trusted names in numismatics, to further enhance the MintDirect? Premier program. This partnership with PCGS allows MintDirect? Premier with PCGS FirstStrike? 2021 Gold Buffalos in their sealed packaging to remain eligible for the FirstStrike? designation if submitted to PCGS for grading long after new FirstStrike?-eligible coins are typically off the market.

    Coin Highlights:
    • Each coin contains 1 oz of .9999 fine Gold.
    • This MintDirect? Premier tube contains 20 1 oz Gold American Buffalo coins.
    • Obverse: James Earle Fraser's classic portrait of an American Indian in profile, as first seen on the 1913 Buffalo Nickel.
    • Reverse: An American bison, adapted from the original reverse of the classic Buffalo Nickel. This image is thought to be based on Black Diamond, a buffalo living in the Central Park Zoo in the early 20th century.
    • Produced by the U.S. Mint in West Point, N.Y.

Protect and store your tubes in an official U.S. Mint Monster Box.

With their beauty, patriotic design and legal tender status, Gold American Buffalo coins provide diversity to investment portfolios with a hard asset that is both secure and internationally recognized. Add these truly beautiful coins to your cart today!

To ensure our customers receive only coins that have remained unopened from the United States Mint, APMEX has created a process to guarantee these coins are direct from the U.S. Mint to you. MintDirect? is your symbol of guarantee that these coins remain packaged in tubes taken directly from the sealed "Monster Boxes", as they were delivered.

APMEX has partnered with PCGS to add the assurance and recognition of the PCGS FirstStrike? designation to the MintDirect? Premier product. After reviewing and vetting the MintDirect? process, PCGS recognizes these 2021 MintDirect? Premier Gold Buffalos as meeting their strict requirements for FirstStrike? eligibility if submitted for grading in their original sealed packaging.

APMEX uses a special machine for this sealing process to ensure the products you receive are sealed completely, once they are removed directly from the mint boxes. The mint tubes are placed on the conveyor leading into the machine and the sealing process seals both ends of each tube with tamper-evident packaging. If this tube has been opened in any way, you will know it. After the process is completed, the tube is removed from the machine and then checked to ensure the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. You now have a finished tube of MintDirect? Premier + PCGS FirstStrike? 2021 1 oz Gold American Buffalo coins.

The MintDirect? process provides you the assurance this product has not been opened, sorted or searched.

Note: The MintDirect? process does not guarantee protection from spotting or tarnishing that normally occurs in chemically active metals, such as Gold, Silver and Platinum.
